Descriptive Test for SSC LDC/ DEO Exam 2014.
Staff
Selection Commission (SSC) has organized a Combined
All India Open Examination for recruitment to the posts of Data Entry Operator and Lower Division Clerk for which 12th Standard Pass or equivalent is the minimum
qualification. Candidates who passed in the Objective Test Now have to appear
for Descriptive Test. Exam pattern and syllabus of SSC CHSL 10+2 Descriptive exam is discussed here.
Exam Pattern: The written examination will consist of one objective type
paper.
There
are four parts in the objective paper.

Please Note:-

Total time duration for Paper is 2 hours and 2 hours 40 minutesfor visually handicapped
candidate.

Candidates have the option to Give
Answer in Hindi or English, whichever is suitable for them except English
Comprehension.

The above paper will be of
descriptive type, broadly covering the syllabus Provided below………..
Exam Syllabus:-
General
Intelligence and Reasoning:- The test will include
questions on Semantic Analogy, Symbolic operations, Symbolic/Number Analogy,
Space Orientation, Venn Diagrams, Symbolic/ Number Classification,
Figural Classification, Semantic Series, Number Series, Critical Thinking,
Problem Solving, Emotional Intelligence, Word Building, Social Intelligence,
Coding and de-coding, Other sub-topics, if any Numerical operations. Focus will
be on Comprehension type Reasoning like Seating Arrangements, Inequalities,
Syllogism.
General
Awareness:- The test will include
questions relating to India and its neighbouring countries especially
pertaining to History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General policy and
scientific research. Questions from Current Affairs may be asked so get ready
for it.
Numerical
Aptitude :-
Number
Systems: Computation of Whole
Number, Decimal and Fractions, Relationship between numbers
Fundamental
arithmetical operations: Percentages, Ratio and Proportion, Square roots, Averages,
Interest (Simple and Compound), Profit and Loss, Discount, Partnership
Business, Mixture and Allegation, Time and distance, Time and work.
ALGEBRA: Basic algebraic identities of School Algebra and Elementary
surds (simple problems) and Graphs of Linear Equations.
GEOMETRY: Familiarity with elementary geometric figures and facts:
Triangle and its various kinds of centres, Congruence and similarity of
triangles, Circle and its chords, tangents, angles subtended by chords of a
circle, common tangents to two or more circles.
MENSURATION: Triangle,
Quadrilaterals, Regular Polygons, Circle, Right Prism, Right Circular Cone,
Right Circular Cylinder, Sphere, Hemispheres, Rectangular Parallelepiped,
Regular Right Pyramid with triangular or square Base
TRIGONOMETRY: Trigonometry, Trigonometric ratios, Complementary angles, Height
and distances (simple problems only) Standard Identities like sin20 + Cos20=1
etc.,
STATISTICAL
CHARTS : Use of Tables and
Graphs: Histogram, Frequency polygon, Bar-diagram, Pie-chart.
Please
Note:- Question must be asked
from Algebra, Mensuration, Trigonometry & Geometry so focus on these
Subjects.
English
Comprehension:- Candidates’ ability to
understand correct English, his basic comprehension and writing ability, etc.
would be tested. Questions will be asked from Essay Writing, Precise Writing,
Letter Writing & English Comprehension.
IMPORTANT TIPS FOR DESCRIPTIVE TEST
·
First read the whole questions
paper completely, Mark the questions which are well prepared & you are
confident.
·
Don’t try to attempt the full Paper
because there is time limit & No sectional cut off.
·
Choose your strong Parts & Answer
According to the Merit of the Question.
·
Try to solve easy questions first
like in Reasoning, Numerical Ability.
·
There may be step marking so in
Numerical ability, if your steps are right you will get marks.
·
Try to Answer English & General
Awareness Part in Last or after solving Reasoning & Math Part.
·
In Reasoning & Math Part, you can
get Full Marks if your Question is Right.
·
Be Precise in Your Answer, Don’t
write irrelevant things in your Answer.
·
There may be questions carrying 1
Marks, 2 Marks & 5 Marks So Solve the paper accordingly.
