Eligibility Criteria
Integrated M.Sc  Programme (05 year)
Mathematics
Plus two examination or equivalent of any recognized board in India with 60% marks (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science/Biology) for general category, 55% marks for OBC (Non-Creamy layer) and
50% marks for SC/ST candidates. The candidates should not have completed 20 years of age as on 01-07-2015.


Physics
Plus two examination or equivalent of any recognized board in India with 60% marks (Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Computer Science/Biology) for general category, 55% marks for OBC (Non-Creamy layer) and 50% marks for SC/ST candidates. The candidates should not have completed 20 years of age as on 01-07-2015.

Chemistry
Plus two examination or equivalent of any recognized board in India with 60% marks (Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science/Biology) for general category, 55% marks for OBC (Non-creamy layer) and 50% marks for SC/ST candidates. The candidates should not have completed 20 years of age as on 01-07-2015.

Life Sciences
Plus two examination or equivalent of any recognized board in India with 60% marks (Biology, Physics,Chemistry with or without Mathematics / Computer Science) for general category, 55% marks for OBC (Non-
Creamy layer) and 50% marks for SC/ST candidates. The candidates should not have completed 20 years of age as on 01-07-2015.


Economics*
Plus two examination or equivalent of any recognized board in India with Mathematics or Economics with Business Mathematics at the Hr. Secondary level with 60% marks in aggregate for general category, 55% marks for OBC (Non-Creamy layer) and 50% marks for SC/ST candidates. The candidates should not have
completed 20 years of age as on 01-07-2015.

M.A Programme (02 year)
English Studies
Bachelor’s degree with at least 55% marks for General Category, 50% marks for OBC (Non- creamy Layer), 45% marks for SC/ST candidates with English as major or one of the major subjects. The candidates should not
have completed 30 years of age as on 01-07-2015. [for those who qualify CUCET 2015, the department of English Studies will administer an additional test for selecting candidates for admitting to M.A English Studies. The duration
of the test will be an hour and candidates will answer one out of 6 descriptive type questions].


Tamil
Bachelor’s degree with at least 55% marks for General Category, 50% marks for OBC (Non- creamy Layer), 45% marks for SC/ST candidates with Tamil as a major subject or as one of the subjects. The candidates should not have completed 30 years of age as on 01-07-2015. [Candidates admitted may be provided scholarships and book grant by CICT]. For CUCET passed candidates an interview may be conducted by the Department in addition.

Social Work
Any Bachelor’s Degree of a minimum of 3 years duration or its equivalent (under the 10+2+3 or 10+2+4 )from a recognized university, in any discipline. Minimum marks in the qualifying examination for admission is 55% for
general category, 50% marks for OBC (Non-creamy Layer) and 45% marks for SC/ST candidates. The candidates should not have completed 30 years of age as on 01-07-2015.


Media and
Communication

Any Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university with at least 55% marks for general category, 50% marks OBC (Non-creamy Layer) and 45% marks for SC/ST candidates at Graduate level. The candidates should not have completed 30 years of age as on 01-07-2015.

Hindi
A Bachelor’s Degree in Hindi with at least 55% (Gen)[50% (OBC Non Creamy Layer)/45 %(SC/ST)] of aggregate marks (or) any Bachelor’s Degree with at least 55 %(Gen)[50% (OBC Non Creamy Layer)/45% (SC/ST)] of marks in Hindi as Optional/Elective/Compulsory Language.
M.Sc Programme (02 year)
General Economics***
Any graduate of a recognized University with a minimum of 55% marks for general category, 50% marks for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), 45% marks for SC/ST Candidates and had studied Mathematics at plus two level. The candidates should not have completed 24 years of age as on 01-07-2015.

Financial Economics***
Any graduate of a recognized University with a minimum of 55% marks for general category, 50% marks for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), 45% marks for SC/ST Candidates and had studied Mathematics at plus two level. The candidates should not have completed 24 years of age as on 01-07-2015.

Applied Quantitative Finance***
Any graduate of a recognized University with a minimum of 55% marks for general category, 50% marks for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), 45% marks for SC/ST Candidates and had studied Mathematics at plus two level. The candidates should not have completed 24 years of age as on 01-07-2015.

Environmental Economics***
Any graduate of a recognized University with a minimum of 55% marks for general category, 50% marks for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), 45% marks for SC/ST Candidates and had studied Mathematics at plus two level. The candidates should not have completed 24 years of age as on 01-07-2015.

Actuarial Economics***
Any graduate of a recognized University with a minimum of 55% marks for general category, 50% marks for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), 45% marks for SC/ST Candidates and had studied Mathematics at plus two level. The candidates should not have completed 24 years of age as on 01-07-2015.

Chemistry
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry (Main) or with Chemistry as one of the major subjects. Candidates should have secured a minimum of 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA (on a 10- point scale) in the qualifying degree examination for General category, 55% marks or 6.0 CGPA (on a 10
point scale) for OBC and 50% aggregate marks or 5.5 CGPA (on a 10-point scale) for SC/ST candidates. The candidates should not have completed 24 years of age as on 01-07-2015.

M.Tech. Programme (02 year)

First Class M.Sc. in Physics/ Chemistry/ Applied Physics/ Applied Chemistry/ Material Science/ Nano Science / Nano Technology or BE/ B.Tech. (except Computer Science / IT). Minimum marks in the qualifying examination for admission is 60% for general category, 55% for OBC (Non-creamy Layer) and 50% for SC/ST
candidates. The candidates should not have completed 30 years of age as on 01-07-2015.

   
First Class M.Sc. in Physics/ Chemistry/ Applied Physics/ Applied Chemistry/ Material Science/ Energy & Environmental Science/ Nano Science/ Nano Technology or BE/ B.Tech. in Metallurgy/ Mechanical/ Electrical/ Civil/ Energy/ Chemical/ Environmental Engineering etc. Minimum marks in the qualifying examination for admission is 60% for general category, 55% for OBC (Non-creamy Layer) and 50% for SC/ST candidates. The candidates should not have completed 30 years of age as on 01-07-2015.
Ph. D. Programme
English
A consistently good academic record possessing a
Master’s Degree (two years duration) with a minimum of 55% marks [50% for OBC (Non-creamy layer) and 45% for SC/ST] in the concerned or an allied subject, preceded by a Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent Degree of three years duration from a recognized University/Institute.


Physics
A consistently good academic record possessing a
Master’s Degree (two years duration) with a minimum of 55% marks [50% for OBC (Non-creamy layer) and 45% for SC/ST] in Physics or equivalent degree, preceded by a Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent Degree of three
years duration from a recognized University/Institute.


Chemistry
A consistently good academic record possessing a
Master’s Degree (two years duration) with a minimum of 55% marks [50% for OBC (Non-creamy layer) and 45% for SC/ST] in Chemistry/ Organic Chemistry/ Inorganic
Chemistry/ Physical Chemistry or equivalent degree, preceded by a Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent Degree of three years duration from a recognized University/Institute.


Tamil
A consistently good academic record possessing a
Master’s Degree (two years duration) with a minimum of 55% marks [50% for OBC (Non-creamy layer) and 45%
for SC/ST] in Master’s degree in Tamil / equivalent subject in Tamil , preceded by a Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent Degree of three years duration from a recognized University.


Life Sciences
A consistently good academic record possessing a
Master’s Degree (two years duration) with a minimum of 55% marks [50% for OBC (Non-creamy layer) and 45%
for SC/ST] in Life Sciences/ Zoology/ Animal Sciences/ Biomedical Sciences/ Biological Sciences/ Biochemistry/ Biotechnology/ Genetics/ Botany/ Plant Sciences,

University/Institute.


Economics
A consistently good academic record possessing a

Mathematics
Master’s Degree (two years duration) with a minimum of 55% marks [50% for OBC (Non-creamy layer) and 45% for SC/ST] in Mathematics, preceded by a Bachelor’s
Degree or an equivalent Degree of three years duration from a recognized University/Institute.
