PGVCL Exam Syllabus 2014
Paschim Gujarat Vij Company Limited (PGVCL) will conduct a Written exam for recruitment of posts of Vidyut Sahayak (Junior Assistant). Most of the candidates are ignorant about the Plan or Scheme of Exam and prescribed Syllabi of written examination. They get worried about the preparation to perform best in their exam. So, here we are presenting the latest prescribed syllabus and Scheme of Examination of Vidyut Sahayak (Junior Assistant) exam going to be held by PGVCL.
Exam Pattern : Exam Pattern of Vidyut Sahayak (Junior Assistant) Written Test is given hereunder :
► The written test will comprise of 60% objective type question and 40% descriptive type question.
► The knowledge of Computer operation and Gujarati and English language is essential.

Exam Syllabus : Exam Syllabus of Vidyut Sahayak (Junior Assistant) Written Test is given hereunder :
General Knowledge : Computer Fundamentals, Windows (MS-Windows), MS-Office : Word Processing (MS-Word), Spread Sheet (MS-Excel), Presentation Knowledge (MS-Power Point), MS Access and Usage of Internet Services available on Internet, Communication Technology, Networking Concepts.
English Language : Spot the Error, Fill in the Blanks, Synonyms/Homonyms, Antonyms, Spellings/Detecting Mis-spelt words, Idioms & Phrases, One word substitution, Improvement of Sentences, Active/Passive Voice of Verbs, Conversion into Direct/Indirect narration, Shuffling of Sentence parts, Shuffling of Sentences in a passage, Cloze Passage, Comprehension Passage.
Maths & General Science :Physics : Universe, General Scientific Laws, Scientific Instruments, Inventions and discoveries, National Scientific laboratories, Science glossary, Mechanics and properties of matter, Physical quantities, standards and units, Force, Motion and energy, Electricity and magnetism, electronics & communications, Heat, Light and sound, Atomic and Nuclear physics, Solid state Physics, Spectroscopy, Geophysics, Astronomy and space science.
Chemistry : Elements and Compounds, Acids, bases and salts, Oxidation and reduction, Chemistry of Ores and Metals, Carbon, nitrogen and their compounds, Fertilizers, pesticides, insecticides-Biochemistry and Biotechnology, Electrochemistry, Polymers and plastics.
Mathematics : The test of Arithmetical and Numerical abilities will cover Number Systems including questions on Simplification, Decimals, Fractions, L.C.M., H.C.F., Ratio & Proportion, Percentage, Average, Profit & Loss, Discount, Simple & Compound Interest, Mensuration, Time & Work, Time & Distance, Tables & Graphs, etc.
Analytical & Logical Reasoning : The questions will be of 10th Standard and would include both verbal and nonverbal type. The test may include questions on analogues, similarities and differences, space visualization, problem solving, analysis, judgment, decision making, visual memory, discrimination observation, relationship concept, figure classification, arithmetical number series, verbal and non-verbal series and mathematics of 10th standard. The test will also include questions designed to test the candidate’s abilities to deal with abstract ideas and symbols and their relationship, mathematical computation and other analytical functions.
Computer Knowledge : History, Geography and Socio Economic development of Himachal Pradesh. Knowledge of current events of National and International importance and such matters of every day observation and experience in their scientific aspects as may be expected of an educated person who has not made a special study of any scientific subject. Paper will also include questions on Modern History (From 1857 onwards) of India, Indian culture, Indian Polity, Indian Economy, Geography of India.
