Gauhati High Court will conduct Preliminary Written Exam and Main Exam for recruitment to the posts in Grade-III of Assam Judicial Service. So, here we are providing the latest Syllabus & Exam Pattern of Grade-III Posts Exam conducting by Guahati High Court.
Preliminary Exam (Screening Test)
Exam Pattern : Exam Pattern for the Guwahati High Court Screening test is as Follows :-
► Written Test will be Multiple Choice Objective Type.
► The Time Duration of Test will be 02:00 Hours (120 Minutes).
► Question paper consist of 100 questions & 100 Marks.

Part-I (90 Marks)
→ General Knowledge
→ Aptitude
→ English
→ Constitution of India
→ Code of Civil Procedure
→ Code of Criminal Procedure
→ Transfer of Property Act
→ Indian Penal Code
→ Indian Evidence Act
→ Law of Torts
Part-II (10 Marks)
→ To Test The Proficiency In The Official Language(S) Of The State Of Assam.
Main Exam
Exam Pattern : Exam Pattern for the Guwahati High Court Main Written Exam is as Follows :-
► Written Test will be Multiple Choice Objective Type.
► There will be five papers in final written exam.
► An Interview will be conducted after written exam of 50 marks.

1. Paper on English 100 Marks
(a) Essay Writing
(b) Précis Writing
(c) Grammar etc.
2. General Knowledge 100 Marks
(a) Objective Type
(b) Aptitude Test
3. Law Paper-I 100 Marks
(a) Constitution of India
(b) Code of Civil Procedure
(c) Transfer of Property Act
(d) Indian Contract Act
4. Law Paper-II 100 Marks
(a) Indian Penal Code
(b) Criminal Procedure Code
(c) Indian Evidence Act
(d) Law of Torts
5. Paper to test proficiency of the 50 Marks candidate in the official language(s) of the State of Assam.
Interview : VIVA-VOCE – 50 MARKS
To be Noticed – All candidates who obtain 60 (sixty) percent or more aggregate marks in the Written Test subject to securing 45 percent marks in individual papers I, II & III and minimum 35% marks in the language paper shall be eligible for Viva-Voce Examination. Provided that Schedule Caste/Schedule Tribe candidates who obtain 50 (fifty) percent or more aggregate marks subject to obtaining 40 percent marks in Individual paper I, II & III and minimum 35% marks in the language paper shall be eligible for Viva-Voce Examination.
In the Viva-Voce out of 50 marks the candidates will have to secure minimum 60% marks. The final selection shall be made subject to overall suitability.
