Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (HPPSC) will conduct a Written Examination named State Eligibility Test-2014 for the recruitment to the posts of Assistant Professor in Chemical Sciences, English, Life Sciences, Commerce, Economics, Geography, Hindi, History, Mathematical Sciences, Music, Physical Sciences, Physical Education, Sociology, Sanskrit, Political Science, Public Administration, Computer Applications, Tourism Administration & Management and Journalism & Mass Communication.
As we all know, as time is running out the level of competition is increasing rapidly. It is very hard to chase a competitive examination without proper knowledge of its pattern/scheme and syllabus. Candidates who are ignoramus facing critical problem of “What to prepare” and “How to prepare” to give their best in their exams. That’s why candidates are too anxious and stressed about their preparation of the Examination. But, nothing about to worry just get the prescribed exam pattern & syllabi from here for your better preparation. Now, here we are providing the latest prescribed Syllabus & Exam Pattern of Exam conducting by HPPSC.
Exam Pattern : Exam Pattern for the Assistant Professor State Eligibility Test is as Follows:-
► Written Exam will be Multiple Choice Objective Type.
► The test will consist of three papers.

► All the three papers will be held on one day in two separate sessions as under :

Exam Syllabus : Exam Syllabus for Assistant Professor SET written Exam is given below :-
Paper-I shall be of general nature, intended to assess the teaching/ research aptitude of the candidate. It will primarily be designed to test reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate. Sixty (60) multiple choice questions of two marks each will be given, out of which the candidate would be required to answer any fifty (50). In the event of the candidate attempting more than fifty questions, the first fifty questions attempted by the candidate would be evaluated.
Paper-II shall consist of 50 objective type compulsory questions based on the subject selected by the candidate. Each question will carry 2 marks.
Paper-III will consist of 75 objective compulsory questions from the subject selected by the candidate. Each question will carry 2 marks. All questions of Paper-II and Paper-III will be compulsory, covering entire syllabus (including all electives, without options.)
The candidate will have to mark the responses for questions of Paper-I, Paper-II and Paper-III on the Optical Mark Reader (OMR) sheet provided by the Commission.
