About BHU: Banaras Hindu University (known as Benares Hindu University earlier) (commonly referred to as BHU) is a public central university located in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. Established in 1916 by Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya BHU.
About PET: Post Graduation Entrance Test (PET) conducted by the Banaras Hindu University (BHU). The Banaras Hindu University shall conduct Postgraduate Entrance Tests, hereinafter called PET, during May and 1st week of June, 2015 for admission to various Postgraduate Courses as given hereunder for the Session 2015-2016. Admissions will be made according to merit in the PET, subject to fulfilling of eligibility requirements mentioned below and availability of seats in the particular Course for which the candidate has applied for and appeared in the Entrance Test. These Courses have been divided into General Courses Professional Courses and Special Courses.
Date of examination: Candidate who are applying for the entrance test exam was held on 16th May to 05th June 2015. Candidates my keep in touch with the BHU PET Website for more information regarding result and other details.
Result:The University shall try to announce the results of the candidates around 3rd -4th week of June 2015 which would be available on BHU Entrance Test Portal (www.bhuonline.in). In addition, marks obtained by the candidate in the test, candidates overall merit and merit within the category to which belongs shall be emailed at candidates registered email address and sent through SMS at candidates registered mobile number provided by the candidate in the application form. Therefore the candidates are advised to give correct email addresses/mobile phone numbers for correspondence.
Result will be announced on 3rd – 4th week of June, 2015
Selection Procedure: Selection of the candidates is purely on the basis of entrance exam marks. There shall be negative marking in entrance tests for all Courses of study in PET. Three marks shall be awarded for each correct answer while one mark shall be deducted for each incorrect answer. Unattempted question will be awarded zero mark.
Candidate shall be selected in order of merit on the basis of aggregate marks secured in the Entrance Test provided he/she fulfils the minimum eligibility criteria and minimum qualifying marks in the test. The University reserves the right to fix minimum qualifying marks for different courses and/or different categories.
