UPSC Civil Services changes in CSAT 2015
LATEST UPDATE Regarding To This Post : Central Government has given big relief to the Aspirants of Indian Languages in UPSC Civil Services. Government has decided not to add the marks of controversial CSAT Pattern in Civil Services Exam 2015.Candidates only have to Pass it to qualify for Civil Services Mains Exam 2015.
So it is big sign of relief for those candidates who came from the Rural Parts of India. It also give them chance to compete with Science & Engineering Students. This decision is taken because Candidates rebel against the CSAT pattern.
CSAT Cut Off Marks : Candidates have to qualify CSAT Exam with 33% Marks to qualify for Mains Exam.
Union Public Service Commission is willing to conduct Preliminary Exam for Civil Services. Lacs of Candidates apply for the Civil Services exam. Candidates have to change their strategy about Pre Written Exam because UPSC makes slight change in the Exam Pattern & Marking Scheme of Pre Written Exam which is fully based on CSAT Pattern.
UPSC every year conducts this exam for young & passionate graduates to serve in Administrative Department & take the Challenge of Higher Authority Posts.Civil Services exam is rated as the toughest competitive exam organized in India. Civil Services comes under Grade A Posts so the standard of the exam is obviously of High Standard. UPSC organizes Pre exam of Civil Services. Pre Exam is based on CSAT pattern.

CSAT Pattern:-
CSAT pattern in in the News today because Many students are against this pattern. Students wants to change this pattern of Preliminary exam. There are two papers in the Pre Exam. These papers are also known as CSAT I and CSAT IICSAT I is carries questions of General Studies.
The CSAT-II paper carries questions on comprehension, interpersonal skills including communication skills, logical reasoning and analytical ability, decision-making and problem-solving, general mental ability, basic numeracy, and English language comprehension skills (of Class X level).
Changes in CSAT Pattern 2014:-
  • UPSC Civil Services Exam conduct on 24 August, 2014 have two exam papers i.e. Paper-I & Paper-II. Each Paper will be of 2 Hours time duration.
  • In Paper-II, Candidates need not to solve English Language Comprehension Skill questions (Level of Class 10th) given in each Set because evaluation of these questions will not be done for Gradation or Merit. So All Civil Service Aspirants are advised that  they do not attempt those questions of English Language Comprehension in Paper-II, whose Hindi Translation is not given in the question Booklet.
  • So there are two compulsory papers in the UPSC Civil Services 2014 Pre Exam. Paper-I will be of 200 Marks & In Paper-II evaluation will be done by Maximum Marks remaining after subtracting marks of English Language Comprehension in 200 Marks.
  • Merit of Civil Services 2014 for candidates to become eligible for Mains Exam will be based on 200 Marks of Paper-I & Rest of Marks in Paper-II after reducing Marks of English Language in Paper-II.
