(BIS) is going to conduct a
written test for the recruitment of Scientist ‘B’ in various Engineering
disciplines such as Mechanical, Metallurgical, Civil, Electrical, Electronics,
Chemical, Chemistry, Microbiology and Leather Technology. Nowadays Competition
Level become very high so Competitive Exams gets too tougher. So Candidates
must be know that “What to prepare” and “How to prepare” for the best in their
Exams. So, here we are providing the latest determined Syllabus & Exam
Pattern of Scientist ‘B’ exam conducting by BIS.
Exam Pattern : Exam Pattern for the Scientist ‘B’
written Exam is as Follows:-
► The written exam will be multiple choice objective type.
► The online exam will carry 200 questions of total 200 marks.
► The time duration of test will be 02:00 hours (120 minutes).
► There will also be negative marking of 25% for every wrong answer.
► The question will be set in both English and Hindi.

Quantitative Aptitude : Questions will be asked from
Simplification, Average, Percentage, Time & Work, Area, profit & Loss,
Simple & Compound Interest, Time & Speed, Investment, HCF LCM, Problem
On Ages, Bar Graph, Pictorial Graph, Pie Chart. Date Interpretation is the
section which have to be focused.
Reasoning : Questions will be asked from analogies,
similarities and differences, spatial visualization, spatial orientation,
problem solving, analysis, judgment, decision making, visual memory,
discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetic reasoning,
verbal and figure classification, arithmetical number series, non-verbal
series, coding and decoding, statement conclusion, syllogistic reasoning.
English Language : Spot the Error, Fill in the Blanks,
Synonyms/Homonyms, Antonyms, Spellings/Detecting Mis-spelt words, Idioms &
Phrases, One word substitution, Improvement of Sentences, Active/Passive Voice
of Verbs, Conversion into Direct/Indirect narration, Shuffling of Sentence
parts, Shuffling of Sentences in a passage, Cloze Passage, Comprehension
Passage.
Technical Knowledge : Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions
on the subject/discipline concerned as per the qualification prescribed in the
Recruitment Rules and related to the trade/profession under the several posts.
