NOTE:- The Staff Selection Commission has a nationwide network of Regional/Sub-regional Offices. One of Regional Office is located at Guwahati which is eminently known as North Eastern Region. States of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Tripura, Nagaland, Mizoram came under NER region.
The Commission also conducts examinations for various specialized posts as and when requisitions are received form the Central Government Departments. Since such posts are specialized, recruitment is through Interview, though the Commission reserves the right for screening. For other examinations like Stenographers, skill tests are held, after necessary screening.
