Patna High Court Exam Syllabus 2015
Patna High Court will conduct preliminary and mains examinations for the recruitment of Civil Judge (Entry Level). Nowadays Competition Level become very high so Competitive Exams gets too tougher. Candidates facing critical problem of “What to prepare” and “How to prepare” to give their best in their exams. So, here we are providing the latest Syllabus & Exam Pattern of Civil Judge (Entry Level) Exam conducting by Patna High Court.
Preliminary Examination
Exam Pattern : Exam Pattern for the Civil Judge (Pre) Exam is as Follows:-
► Written Exam will be multiple choice objective type.

► The full marks for screening test shall be 300 and it shall be of 100 questions.
► Each question will carry 03 marks but each wrong answer will incur 01 negative mark.
► The syllabus shall comprise questions relating to Law (45%), English language (20%), Reasoning and Mathematics (20%), General Knowledge (10%) and Computer (5%).

Exam Syllabus : Exam Syllabus for CJ (Entry Level) Preliminary Examination is given below :-
Law : The questions in the subject of law will be in respect of the provisions contained in the following enactments :


(1) The Constitution of India;
(2) The Code of Civil Procedure, 1908;
(3) The Limitation Act, 1963;
(4) The Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973;
(5) The Indian Evidence Act, 1872;
(6) The Transfer of Property Act, 1882;
(7) The Indian Contract Act, 1872;
(8) The Specific Relief Act, 1963;
(9) The Sale of Goods Act, 1930;
(10) The Indian Partnership Act, 1932;
(11) The Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881;
(12) The Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996; and
(13) The personal Laws (Hindu, Muslim and Christian).

English Language : Verb, preposition, adverb, subject verb agreement, Error Correction/ recognition, tenses, sentences rearrangement, fill in the blanks with articles etc., comprehension, answering questions based on unseen passage, vocabulary, synonyms and antonyms usage, vocabulary & grammar, Proficiency in the language.
Reasoning and Mathematics : Number series, Letter series, Odd man out, Coding-Decoding, Problems relating to Relations, Shapes and their sub sections. Questions will be asked from Simplification, Average, Percentage, Time & Work, Area, profit & Loss, Simple & Compound Interest, Time & Speed, Investment, HCF LCM, Problem On Ages , Bar Graph, Pictorial Graph, Pie Chart. Date Interpretation is the section which have to be focused.
General Knowledge : The paper will carry a maximum mark of 100 and will be designed to test the candidates knowledge of matters including current events and of such matters of every day observation and experience in their scientific aspects as may be expected of an educated person who has not made a special study of any scientific subject. The paper will also include question on Indian History and Geography of a nature which the candidates should be able to answer without special study.
Computer : Computer Fundamentals, Windows (MS-Windows), MS-Office : Word Processing (MS-Word), Spread Sheet (MS-Excel), Presentation Knowledge (MS-Power Point), MS Access and Usage of Internet Services available on Internet, Communication Technology, Networking Concepts.
Main Examination
► The full marks for Main (Written) Examination shall be 250. The full marks for Interview shall be 50.

(8) The Indian Partnership Act, 1932;
(9) The Specific Relief Act, 1963;
(10) The Transfer of Property Act, 1882;
(11) The Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881;
(12) The Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996;
(13) The Personal Laws (Hindu, Muslim and Christian);
(14) The Motor Vehicles Act, 1988;
(15) The Family Courts Act, 1984;
(16) The Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988; and
(17) The Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989.
Note :

→ A candidate will qualify for interview if he secures minimum 45% marks in each paper and 55% marks in aggregate in the written test.
→ Provided that in case the number of qualified candidates are not adequate, the High Court may, in the interest of judiciary, relax the qualifying marks in aggregate as may be required but this relaxation will not be below 50% in aggregate.
→ The candidates must secure at least 10 marks out of 50 marks in the interview.
→ The candidate must pass in both Written Test and Interview before he is considered for appointment.
