(1) If statements I is sufficient to answer the question, but statement II by itself is not sufficient to answer the question.
(2) If statement II by itself is sufficient to answer the question, but statement I alone is not sufficient to answer the question.
(3) If statement either I or II is sufficient to answer the question.
(4) If both the statements I and II taken together are not sufficient to answer the question.
(5) If both the statements I and II taken together are sufficient to answer the question.

Answer : From the first statement If any number is divisible by 3, its square is always divisible by 9. So we cannot find the number from the given statement. From second statement 40% of the number is 2/5th of that number. So the question cannot be answered even after using both statements together.
2. What is the ratio of investment of Ram, Shyam, and Mahesh?

Answer : From statement first we can’t find the answer as shayam and Mahesh investment are not given .From second statement their ratio are= 3 : 2 : 1 So second statement is sufficient to given the answer.
3. Area of a rectangle is equal to the area of a right angled triangle. What is length of the rectangle? I. The base of the triangle is 80 cms.
II. The height of the triangle is 90 cms..

Answer :Area of rectangle =area of right triangle =(1/2)*base*height =(1/2)*80*90=3600 Area of rectangle =3600 So we can’t find the length by neither alone statement nor together.
4. What is the speed of the boat in still water?

Answer :From the second statement clearly we can find out the number of families which have exp and bungalow. (150000*40)/100=60000
6. The ratio of ducks and frogs in a pond is 37: 39 respectively. The average number of ducks and frogs in the pond is 152. What is the number of frogs in the pond?
148
152
156
144
None of these
Answer : Let number of ducks = 37x And number of frogs = 39x Average = 38x = 152 x = 4. Hence number of frogs = 39x = 156
7. P and Q are two taps which can fill a tank individually in 5 minutes and 10 minutes respectively. However, there is a leakage at the bottom which can empty a filled tank in 15 minutes. If the tank is empty initially, how much time will both the taps take to fill the tank (leakage is still there)?
4(2/7)min
3(5/7)min
5 min
2 min
None of these
Answer :Let the capacity of the tank is 30 litres. P can fill 6 litres in one min. Q can fill 3 litres in one min. C can empty 2 litre in one min Together both the pipes and leakage will fill 7 litres in one min. Hence time to fill the tank = 30/7 mins
8. What approximate amount of compound interest can be obtained on an amount of Rs. 1950 at the rate of 6% p.a. at the end of 3 years?
Rs. 347.4
Rs. 384
Rs. 344
Rs. 372.5
Rs. 368.5
Answer :P = 1950, R = 6%, N = 3 years 1st year interest = 117 2nd year interest = 117 + 7.02 3rd year interest = 117 + 7.02 + 7.02 + 0.4212 Total interest = 372.5 (approx)
